REMEMBER

Take 30 minutes today to remember God's faithfulness.

“Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.” – Isaiah 25:1

I love this time of year. I love the start of a new school year. I love being reunited with my precious band family who I have come to love deeply and depend on.

Last night, one of my sweet sisters in our band family asked how we’re doing. They have been so faithful to pray for Valor and our children this year – over and over again.

And whew… when I reflect on this last twelve months. Addiction reared its ugly head, as did depression. It felt like the enemy was on a mission to destroy my kids. Honestly, he almost did.

But GOD.

That’s all I keep saying.

“Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” - Lamentations 3:21–23

Like, I couldn’t exaggerate the word GREAT in that scripture more if I could put it in gigantic, bold letters. He has been so faithful.

Not just for me and my family – but for you.

I am undone when I reflect on His compassion and mercy and love.

I have never trusted anyone or anything as I do Him.

It doesn’t mean I think all of my prayers will be answered the way I want. They won’t.

It means, pushing 60 trips around the sun, I have never known someone more faithful.

Someone who literally will not fail me, who loves me beyond my understanding. Loves me unconditionally.

Every single trial this year (and beyond) always comes with a “but God.”

I’m studying Isaiah right now. And as I went through chapter 25 this morning, I was prompted to remember the good things God has done.

Ughhh… I’m crying just typing this. Oh, the good. He has brought me through every betrayal and every rejection. He has healed and comforted and held me too many times to count.

He has answered countless prayers. And trust me, this girl wears Him out some days. 😊

He’s revealed truths. He’s severed relationships. He’s provided miracles. He’s strengthened. He’s changed hearts. He’s saved.

Like a good father. He picks us up, bloodied and bruised. Gives us a huge hug. Tells us how much He loves us. Looks at us lovingly in the eyes, and says, "Carry on, precious. I've got you."

This isn’t going to be a long blog. I really just wanted to jump on and encourage you to take 30 minutes today to remember.

Write down all of the ways God has seen you through, the prayers He’s answered, the ways He’s loved you. Force yourself to reflect.

My hope and prayer is that you will be astounded. Undone like I have been this morning. His love and faithfulness have been endless.

I have failed Him so many times… I would have given up on me by now.

I have put so many things before God: people, relationships, jobs, addictions, pride.

I have made many things idols, including myself.

I have used His name in vain.

I have hated and judged and lied and gossiped.

I have lived an immoral life in ignorance, blindness, but mostly in pure rebellion.

Every commandment I have broken.

But GOD.

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ…” - Ephesians 2:4–5

Tears flowing again. Again, heavy on the GREAT. He has never left me. He has never forsaken me. If you have surrendered your life to Him...

He loves us with an everlasting love.

He pulls us out of the pit repeatedly.

He reassures us that He is with us and is fighting for us.

He promises He will supply all of our needs.

He tells us we have a hope and a future.

HE makes us alive in Christ.

Undone...

Oh, how I pray my life in every way glorifies Him. That in some small way today I can make Him smile. My devotion to Him is nothing compared to what I owe Him.

Psalm 77:11–12 says, “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”

He is the same God, yesterday, today, and forever.
